IAASB issues ISAE 3402
The International Auditing and Assurance Standards Board (IAASB) has released International Standard on Assurance Engagements (ISAE) 3402, Assurance Reports on Controls at a Service Organization, which addresses reports on the description, design, and operating effectiveness of controls relating to the broad range of services (e.g. assisting with processing transactions) that today’s service organisations provide. ISAE 3402 is effective for service auditors’ reports covering periods ending on or after June 15, 2011, and is available at IFAC's Publications and Resources site. In line with its strategic direction, we anticipate that the AUASB will consider issuing an equivalent Australian standard in the new year.
